I was greatly astonished to hear Dr. Mostafa El-Feqi telling the interviewer at the TV show "Halet Hewar" on the Egyptian Channel 1 last night, that at the parliament, they always have a problem finding members to travel on assignments abroad! "..we can't find ten members who speak a foreign language!" he added!!!
From 454 representatives of the 75 million Egyptian people, there are not even ten people who speak a foreign language! That's a brutal, and revealing truth, one that tells a lot about the performance of these people! They evidently don't read foreign reports, and newspapers in this age of globalization, and that can explain a lot of their reactions to national and international events. I just hope they read local newspapers, although, on a second thought, I will settle for a lower wish which is that they can read and write!!!!
